23/365:The Pupa

What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly. ~Richard Bach

I was out early this morning hoping to catch a photo of this pupa I noticed 2 days ago. Alas! It is now empty. Somewhere out there a lovely butterfly hovering among the flowers came from this home.

The butterfly is a flying flower,
The flower a tethered butterfly.
~Ponce Denis Écouchard Lebrun

May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun
And find your shoulder to light on,
To bring you luck, happiness and riches
Today, tomorrow and beyond.

15/365: New Life

A friend just had a brandnew baby…a perfect Valentines day gift for the family. Congratulations friend…and take good care of this little angel.

“Take a sprinkling of fairy dust, An angel’s single feather, Also a dash of love and care, Then mix them both together. Add a sentiment or two,
A thoughtful wish or line, A touch of stardust, a sunshine ray… Its a recipe, for a Baby Girl truly fine.”

Flowers… are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty outvalues all the utilities of the world.  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson, 1844

4/365: Lonely

Posted: February 4, 2011 in life

Today is the first day in 2 weeks that we experienced the beauty and warmth of a sunfilled day.

I was looking for a subject for my 4th day in the lawn,  taking several macro photos of a flower, an insect (which was blurred) and a leaf, when this stone caught my eye….it was lying lonely amidst the dried leaves and dried small puddles of water.  I guess it was washed up during the heavy rains the precious days.   Life is like this stone sometimes….lonely despite being surrounded  by friends and relatives.
